Free Tax Preparation Through VITA

Cali Bank, N.A. is proud to host VITA – Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, a free IRS‑sponsored program that helps qualifying individuals prepare and file their tax returns securely and accurately.

 

Starting February 7, 2026, through April 4, 2026, our branch will serve as an official VITA site, offering free, confidential tax preparation to the community.

 

VITA provides no‑cost tax preparation for people who generally earn $69,000 or less, individuals with disabilities, and those with limited English proficiency. All returns are prepared by IRS‑certified volunteers who follow strict accuracy, privacy, and confidentiality standards.

 

Clients can receive help filing federal and state tax returns, along with assistance claiming valuable cash‑back tax credits, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC), Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC), and Foster Youth Tax Credit (FYTC). These credits can significantly increase refund amounts.

 

Many VITA locations, including our Westminster branch, also support ITIN applications (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number) and offer multilingual assistance to meet the needs of our diverse communities.
